Founded in 2017, Coex Training was established by a team of industry professionals driven by a shared passion for quality training and workforce development. With firsthand experience in the field, we set out to build a training company focused on delivering practical, effective solutions that keep people safe and effective in their roles.

From our beginnings in Perth, we have grown to support clients across Australia and internationally, delivering tailored training and technical services that meet the diverse needs of organisations big and small. Jay Curtis

General Manager

Responsible for the overall operation of the business and RTO compliance. Strategically focusing on growth of domestic and international business strategies.

Following a decade long career in Defence Aviation from technical maintenance, maintenance planning, supervising and training delivery, Jay turned his attention to the development and implementation of training programs to maintenance teams within the resources sector.

Focused on the business goals, maintenance strategies and future site growth, the programs were developed to deliver highly competent and compliant workforce in the most efficient time frame.

Jay then moved into the private vocational education sector, managing and growing specialised Registered Training Organisations ensuring compliance to both regulators and clients alike.

Focusing on delivering technical training both within Australia and to overseas customers, his experience comes from the successful delivery of complex workplace development programs to multinational resource companies.

Sean Venn

Operations Manager

Leads national operations and strategic partnerships, shaping high standards for customer experience and business performance.

Sean’s career began in the military and progressed into private sector security operations, where he developed integrated asset protection solutions and established mentoring programs to strengthen industry capability.

He then transitioned to the education sector, spearheading the development and expansion of secondary and university programs for technical graduates.

As a Six Sigma/Lean consultant, he embedded continuous improvement strategies that enhanced efficiency and positioned global organisations for scalable growth.

Later, as a small business owner, he successfully built and expanded his own company, with a strong emphasis on customer experience and sustainable growth.

Drawing on over 20 years of leadership across defence, private enterprise, and business ownership, he drives operational excellence and organisational performance to develop high-performing teams.

Steve Lonton

Director

Steven, an experienced Senior Executive, has extensive knowledge in Operations Readiness, Training and Workforce Readiness and Asset Management, across the mining, oil & gas, and defense sectors.

Dale Williams

Head of Technical Services

Responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of Coex Training’s specialist technical services, ensuring compliance, quality, and innovation across hazardous areas, high voltage, and instrumentation programs.

Dale’s career began as a qualified electrician working across major industrial projects, where he gained extensive expertise in hazardous areas compliance and complex electrical systems. Progressing into supervisory and training delivery roles, he combined hands-on technical knowledge with a passion for workforce capability development.

With experience across the mining, oil & gas, and energy sectors, Dale has led the creation of industry-focused training solutions that ensure both compliance and the highest safety standards. At Coex Training, he drives technical excellence and continuous improvement, supporting domestic and international clients with innovative and practical training outcomes.
