Western Australian Iron Ore (WAIO) 

Course Overview:
This training package will enable electrical persons to identify high prospective short circuit current situations and arc flash/blast hazards. They will understand how to consider the type of electrical work carried out, the relevance of the boundaries/distance and applying controls, including the correct selection of electrical PPE, in accordance with BHP electrical safe work procedures. All non-electrical workers conducting low voltage isolation will be required to undertake the Arc Flash Hazard and PPE Training.

Course Overview:
This training package has recently undergone a full-review and has been updated. The key updates include:
i) 2018 Building and Energy safe working guidelines for electrical workers – effective supervision
ii) Statutory Electrical Record Management Procedure (SPR-HIS-SAF-075)
– Working on or near energised equipment
– Electrical log book
– Notifiable work

This training package is aimed at high voltage network operators, to understand the duties of a HV network operator and the BHP requirements outlined in:
i) Safe Work on High Voltage Procedure
ii) Utilities Network Authority Safety Standards Procedure

Course Overview:
This training package is is aimed at high voltage operators, to understand the duties of a HV operator and the BHP requirements for:
i) High voltage switching programs
ii) Earthing
iii) High voltage permits
iv) The appointment process

Course Overview:
Working on or near any live low voltage systems involves high levels of risk and shall be carried out with concise levels of planning, understanding of legislative requirements for working with electrical systems and complying with the BHP Safe Work on Low Voltage management plan and Safe Work on Battery Systems  procedure.
