Course Overview
The Hazardous Area Classification and Design course gives students the competency to classify, plan and design hazardous areas and aligns to the requirements outlined in AS/NZS 4761 Competencies for working with electrical equipment for hazardous areas (EEHA).
This course gives a deep understanding of the process of classifying Hazardous Areas (Potentially Explosive Atmospheres) where areas contain flammable gases, vapours, liquids, and mists. The course also covers the requirements for classifying areas containing flammable dusts, fibres and flyings.
Once the candidate has the confidence and understanding of the classification process, the requirements for electrical designs in a potentially explosive atmosphere are explained. Using a hands on practical approach to the course with real case scenarios, participants gain the ability and confidence to carry out classification and design projects upon completion of the course.
