Coex Training is back by popular demand in Karratha and Port Hedland delivering the only public high voltage switching and hazardous areas training in the Pilbara region. With dates already set for 2021, we are looking forward to developing a long-term local presence in the region.
Developed by industry professionals, our 4-day full course and 2-day refresher course provides the skills and capabilities to carry out work competently. With real-world experience at our core, we incorporate both theory and practical assessments in our training.

High Voltage Switching Operations Full Course Overview
The High Voltage Switching Operations course has been developed by industry professionals with the experience and expertise to deliver the course in a way that provides participants with the competency to carry out high voltage switching activities safely.
With a blended learning approach integrating theory and practical activities our course will transition participants from understanding electrical theory, legislation and risks around high voltage to being able to apply that knowledge successfully developing, writing, coordinating and carrying out high voltage switching programs.

Entry Requirements
Participants are typically required to hold a UEE30811 – Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (Electrical Licence or equivalent) to be eligible to receive full Statement of Attainment for all units delivered in both UEP and UET Training packages.
All participants successfully completing the course will be eligible to receive all the UEPOPs units of competency and;
- UETTDREL16 Working safely near live electrical apparatus
- UETTDRRF09 Apply access procedures to work on or near electrical network infrastructure.

High Voltage Switching Operations Refresher Course Overview
The High Voltage Switching Operations Refresher course has been developed by industry professionals to re-validate and refresh participants competency in relation to High Voltage (HV) activities. The HV refresher course meets the requirements of the Guidelines for the safe management of high voltage (HV) installation in WA.
It is recommended that his course be completed every 2-3 years as per industry standard. With a blended learning approach, students will be updated on legislation changes, industry practices and will be able to validate their skills and knowledge through the theory and practical assessments.
Successful completion will provide students and employers with a verification that participants meet the required competency levels to safely carry out High Voltage switching.

Participants require a previous Statement of Attainment to be eligible for an updated Statement for units that were issued in previous recognised training.
Personnel who do not hold a Statement of Attainment but have evidence of regular training and industry experience are eligible to attend but will only receive a Certificate of Attendance.
